My '94 Soarer V8 (which I believe was built in April) has an engine number of 0457770, and a couple of other Soarer V8s from 1991 had engine numbers of 0362942 and 0249728.
Incidentally, viewing the engine number in the car is not easy, and photographing it is even worse. A wide angle macro lens might work on a normal camera (you need to be very close to see the full plate as it is blocked by eg the upper radiator hose), but the iPad camera sort of worked.
