FAQs about UZZ32 vehicles
How many UZZ32 Soarers were made?
There were no more than 872 UZZ Soarers made. The actual number produced may be less, because some build numbers are claimed to not show up on Toyota's parts database.
What engine is in the UZZ32?
The UZZ32 uses Toyota’s 1UZFE (4.0 litre V8), as did eg the Lexus LS 400 of the same era.
What parts are unique to the UZZ32?
If you find a UZZ32 that is destined for the scrap yard, consider rescuing the Unique Parts.
Where can I find the engine number on a 1UZFE engine?
The Engine number is located at the front of the engine, facing upwards but partly obscured by eg the thermostat and radiator hose. See Engine number for photos.
Are UZZ32 parts available?
Due to the age (and rarity) of these vehicles, UZZ32 specific parts are generally no longer available from Toyota. However, more common parts (where compatible) may be available from Toyota and/or after-market suppliers. In addition, some enthusiasts (see Hall of Fame manufacture or commission custom replacements. There is also a second hand market in spare parts.
When was my UZZ32 built?
Can a UZZ32 be used to tow?
Aftermarket tow bars are available. Towing limits vary by equipment and jurisdiction.
Where are the fuses? Is there a Fuse Diagram?

Decoding Toyota Part numbers
In summary, Toyota’s part number naming system consists of a number like xxxxx—xxxxx, where the first 5 digits represent the “category” and the second 5 digits represent the generation and/or revision. There may also be a further suffix representing the colour.
Are the part numbers and prices correct?
Part numbers may change, eg when a new version of an item is substituted by the manufacturer. Prices similarly fluctuate over time, and in any case there are almost no new parts available. However, the relative costs listed helps identify the more complex and/or expensive items.
What are the different generations of UZZ32 and how do I tell them apart?
For the UZZ32 (etc) Soarers, there are three different generations or series with minor changes:
- first gen, released in 1991
- second gen, released in 1994
- third gen, released in 1996
